Celebrate World Pangolin Day with new Pangolin Pink Gin and 5 ways you can help to protect pangolins today, according to Pango!
Howzit goin’? Pango here, reportin’ from the South African bush on the most excitin’ day of a pangolin’s calendar… that’s right, World Pangolin Day 2021 is on 20th February
While pangolins like me are very much still under threat – all eight of our species are endangered – it’s pretty epic to have a whole day dedicated to our species. This is the tenth annual World Pangolin Day, and I reckon’ we can join forces to make it the best one yet. What d’you say?
At Pangolin Gin, we’ve launched a brand-new blend of pink gin, just for the occasion. It might sound sweet, but don’t be fooled; this drink’s got attitude. Infused with punchy pink peppercorn, sharp pink grapefruit and zesty orange. Pangolin Pink Gin is one of a kind!
This special edition is launched in partnership with our pals at Born Free Foundation. We’re donating 50% of all profits from Pangolin Pink Gin to their pangolin conservation mission. So, don’t holdback, hey?
Some good efforts have been made in the last 6months since we launched; with your support, Pangolin Gin has raised £1,000 for Born Free Foundation, and pangolins being taken off of the Chinese medicine key ingredients list was a big win for us. But the fight isn’t over yet, friends.
Sadly, not many people know about us outside of Africa and Asia, even though we’re the most illegally trafficked mammal in the wild. Crazy, hey? But World Pangolin Day is an opportunity for pangolins like me to be in the limelight for all the right reasons.
So, this is a call to action comin’ direct from the pangolin’s mouth: join us in spreading the word about pangolins and the struggles we face in the wild.
In the fight against the poaching of pangolins, there is no better day to join our gin-sippin’ gang of conservationists than right here, right now.
So, are you with us?
Glad to hear it, partner. Let’s get to work.
Here’s a quickfire list of 5 things you can do TODAY to help keep pangolins safe on World Pangolin Day.
#1 DONATE to Born Free Foundation. Pangolin Gin partners and endangered wildlife protectors, our friends at Born Free Foundation have a conservation effort dedicated to helping pangolins in the wild.
#2 GET TALKIN’ about pangolins. Spread the word on social media about us. There’s a lot of rumours and misinformation out there. Stay informed and pass it on.
#3 MAKE ART that shows just how amazing (and damn cute) pangolins are. Tag us #pangolingin - we love to share your amazing creations.
#4 FUNDRAISE from home by taking on a challenge and asking people to sponsor you. Go wild and make it pangolin themed by taking on a roly-poly challenge or hosting an online pangolin quiz.
#5 DRINK GIN! Get yourself a bottle of Pangolin Pink Gin, with 50% of profits donated straight to the conservation efforts for pangolins. Raise a glass and drink to the end of illegal poaching, once and for all.
Whatever you’re doing to mark World Pangolin Day, I tip my hat to ya.
Keep Fighting the good fight!
